Name: The Surem
Species: Other
Region: North America, Sonoran Desert, Yaqui tribe specific
Temper: Peaceful
Danger: Low
Distinguishing Features: About 3 feet tall.
History: The Surem are said to inhabit a parralell universe known as the yoania. They are the main protagonists of the story of "The Talking Tree".
Disarming or Dispelling Methods: While considered peaceful, their residual spirit energy has been known to be harvested by those in connection with the spiritual world.

Name: Knockers and Tommy-Knockers
Species: Other
Region: England and North America, found in and around mine shafts
Temper: Sometimes helpful, sometimes malicious, always mischevious
Danger: Low to Medium
Distinguishing Features: About 2 feet tall with a large head, wrinkled skin, long beard, extremely long arms and usually wearing mining clothes. Said to be normally invisible to humans, but can be heard working in the mines.
History: Thought to be mutated spirits of dead miners. They warn other miners about danger by using noise. If seen, they become angry, often with violent, even fatal results.
Disarming or Dispelling Methods: None.

Name: Yunwi Djunsti
Species: Fairy
Region: North America, specific to the Cherokee
Temper: Depends on the region they live in. Those who live in the open and scrub brush are mean, those in the mountains and fields are helpful. All seem to like causing mischief, on varying degrees.
Danger: Medium to High
Distinguishing Features: About 2 feet tall, with long, dark hair and white clothes. Usually invisible.
History: Fairies from the Cherokee tradition, they are said to be just like little Cherokee who share the same language and traditions. They are responsible for getting travelers lost in the montains and kidnapping small children. In most kidnapping cases, children are either returned insane, or die. It is said that seeing a Yunwi Djunsti is bad luck and sometimes heralds death, especially if the experiencer speaks of the encounter. All lost objects found in the mountains is considered to be property of the Yunwi Djunsti, and one must ask permission before taking it.
Disarming or Dispelling Methods: Some conjurors have been known to spell the Yunwi Djunsti into doing housework for them, but because of their destructive behavior, most conjurors do not keep them around long.
